Meeting led by a member of the Marine Environment Department team, The staff offers you a virtual dive to discover the fauna and flora present in the marine site. The Protected Area "aire marine" on the mediterranean coast is an aquatic environment of 6,152 hectares, located in the center of the Gulf of Lion, in the waters of the Agde coastal area. This Natura 2000 classified site includes the main areas where essential underwater habitats can develop (Posidonia meadows, coral reefs, rocky shallows and sandy stretches) and areas of high heritage value such as the islet of "Brescou" and the " Grande Conque" volcanic cliffs. It is frequented by many marine species, fish, seeweed, dolphins, turtles and birds. The Marine Department of the City manages this large protected area. Actions are on track: the creation of the largest green anchorage area in the region, a marine sanctuary project, artificial reefs about to be submerged, all this to protect habitats and promote marine resources. > General public event > Free entrance >Booking advised
