Feminine and extravagant, Agde, the "Black Pearl of the
Mediterranean”, reveals its exuberant artistic talent to a few
lucky visitors. Its dark façades in volcanic rock hide a blinding
array of masterpieces. A town at the confluence of rivers and
cultures, a pearl of pearls nourished by the interweaving of
diverse influences, illuminated by a unique and spectacular
Art Deco lighthouse and the iconic Villa Laurens. Since 2012,
the Black Pearl Gallery showcases the work of artists from the
South of France and the banks of the Mediterranean. Every
year, two themed exhibitions present a selection of paintings,
sculptures and unique objets d’art. It’s also the starting point
for the Art and the Black Pearl Workshop circuit, frequented by
around thirty artists in residence
